ZO® Peels

Chemical peels are treatments that use a chemical solution to exfoliate and remove the damaged outer layers of the skin. This process stimulates the growth of new, healthy skin cells and can improve the appearance of wrinkles, acne scars, sun damage, and uneven skin tone.

What are Chemical Peels?

Chemical peels are treatments that use a chemical solution to exfoliate and remove the damaged outer layers of the skin. This process stimulates the growth of new, healthy skin cells and can improve the appearance of wrinkles, acne scars, sun damage, and uneven skin tone.

How do Chemical Peels work?

A solution containing various acids (such as glycolic, salicylic, or lactic acid) is applied to the skin during a chemical peel. The solution exfoliates the outer layers, allowing new, smoother skin to emerge. The strength of the peel can be adjusted based on your skin type and specific concerns.

What can I expect during a Chemical Peel treatment?

Before the treatment, your skin will be cleansed, and the chemical solution will be applied. You may feel slightly tingling or burning as the solution works on your skin. The procedure typically takes about 30-60 minutes. After the peel, your skin may be red and sensitive, similar to a sunburn, and it will gradually peel over the next few days.

What are the benefits of Chemical Peels?

Chemical peels offer several benefits, including:

  • Improved skin texture: Smoothes rough patches and reduces the appearance of fine lines.
  • Even skin tone: Reduces hyperpigmentation, sunspots, and acne scars.
  • Increased collagen production: Stimulates the skin’s natural healing process.
  • Customizable: Can be tailored to address specific skin concerns and varying depths.

Are there any side effects of Chemical Peels?

Common side effects of chemical peels include redness, peeling, and sensitivity. These effects are temporary and typically subside within a week. To ensure proper healing and optimal results, it’s important to avoid sun exposure and follow any post-treatment care instructions provided by your specialist.
